The new iTablet from X2, not Apple

Thankfully, the most awaited iTablet is here, however, the fact is that it did not came from Apple. It looks like UK-based company, X2, has named its recently launched Windows 7 tablet, exactly like the rumoured Apple product that keeps users and fans waiting in vain. Now what we have here is the X2 iTablet.

// The X2 iTablet indeed sounds more than decent, and by far better than the iPad, even though it doesn’t compete with it. As mentioned above, it runs on Windows 7 operating system which is probably Home Premium edition and is powered by an Intel processor running at 1.6 GHz.

Moreover, the X2 iTablet is available in two size choices, namely 10.2 inch and 12.1 inch, both will be 35 mm in thickness, which sounded exaggeratedly thick. Maybe because the iTablet houses an internal storage with up to 250 GB capacity, a 3G chip and Bluetooth, but it’s still very thick compared to the iPad’s 13.4 mm thickness. The iTablet is actually an almost complete portable PC that has three USB ports, one HDMI out, aside from the 1.3-megapixel webcam.

So, the comparison between the X2 iTablet and the iPad is showing an obvious win for the first one, since the latter seems to be just an oversized iPod. There are no announced pricing for the X2 iTablet yet, but the company will probably try to keep it below the price point of the iPad.

It is already the second time that Apple gets bashed and if it actually didn’t register the name “iTablet”, the company won’t be able to sue X2 for copyright, and also would have to come up with some other pompous name for its tablet, if it is going to be out.
