Sales of music video games plummet in 2009
Gaming industry still spurts even the midst of recession period. Many gaming advocates still want to get their hands on the latest and famous games. The rise of gaming consoles that have been so influential on people who play video games that they even spend lot of time playing. Many game types are recently introduced like motion sensor games from Wii and the Music-games that kind of features games that allows you to act a guitarist, drummer, or even a dancer.
The music game category actually raked 1.4 Billion USD of game revenues last year, according to analyst Michael Pachter, large sector of the sales include Guitar Hero World tour and Rock Band 2. Pachter have a bad expectation of the game-category, saying its close to ending year 2009, and the category make 700 million which is half of the recent year’s revenue. He added that despite of the upcoming new releases this year like the Beatles: Rock Band, DJ Hero, Band Hero, Guitar Hero #5, and Guitar Hero: Van Halen which actually due this December 22. According to other analyst, the sales of this game category haven’t met its expectations. The Beatles game which sold 800,000 game copies, which is less than a million marks, analyst mentioned after its first debut. The Guitar hero 5 which sold around 500,000 units on the first month comparing to Guitar hero III who earned 1.4 million 2 years go.
