EMC Speeds Up Storage Connectivity


Mainframes and supercomputers or more likely referred to as the server computers that basically run large websites and online programming sites. It’s a more complicated and more powerful than conventional computers, it is also expensive. EMC corporation is a know manufacturer of this infrastructures, services and software. EMC software protects and stores information. EMC’s enterprise content management applications and software is used to capture information in secure central information.

SDSC_1EMC has added to its high end Symmetrix V-Max storage 8GB per second connectivity for the mainframes and open systems environments. The new capacity doubles the availability input/output. The new V-Max system is capable of faster connectivity as it is expected to result to a more efficient consolidation of application softwares and virtualized data center including mainframes, as mention by the Storage vendor EMC. EMC has revolutionized the virtual provisioning of Symmetrix V-Max. New features are added including zero space reclamation, expanded support systems for TimeFinder and Clone software and the automated re-balancing of virtual storage pools as additional virtual capacity added. Other enhancements include high end capacity system configurations built around 2 and 4 engines and compression software for EMC symmetrix data facility traffic or the Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. It is expected to FASTER as it is the company’s foundation for integrating storage automation and efficient capabilities.
