AOpen XC Mini GP7A-HD nettop now has Core 2 Duo & NVIDIA Ion
AOpen launched its newest nettop entry which this time features regular Core 2 Duo CPUs rather than the former Atom processors, the AOpen XC Mini GP7A-HD. The kit also sports NVIDIA’s Ion graphics chipset adding up to produce Full HD performance, as well as putting up a little gaming through your HDTV.

The nettop also packs a DVD burner, two expandable DDR3 memory slots for up to 4GB, and a 2.5-inch hard drive bay. Connectivity is via USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, audio in/out, gigabit Ethernet, and a 6-in-1 memory card reader. It also features HDMI and VGA outputs which can work simultaneously. Obviously, there’s no wireless connectivity but you can slot in an optional WiFi b/g/n and a TV tuner via the two empty PCI Express Mini Card slots inside.
The AOpen XC Mini GP7A-HD also has a decent cooling system matching the Core 2 Duo and NVIDIA Ion’s hot performance. The cooling system is equipped with a copper processor heat-sink and built-in fan which is said to emit only 26dB of unwanted noise from the unit. In addition, a silent and HD playback modes that can throttle things back so that fan noise won’t be a nuisance when you’re doing a video playback.
The AOpen XC Mini GP7A-HD is likely to land by the half December. Though there are no details yet about the pricing, but we hope this unit to be priced reasonably. Since this will presumably be a best-seller.
