No Spidey Required, HTC Sense Can Wipe Data on Android Phones Remotely
Losing a smartphone can be such a bummer, especially if you have highly sensitive data and files in it that you’d rather some stranger not see or make use of. This shouldn’t be an issue, however, if you have one of those HTC phones running Android OS. With the new HTC Sense web portal, freshly introduced, you can easily access, locate, back up and even wipe your data from the convenience of your PC.

Updated interface and a new web portal for HTC Sense.
There are more features that the new portal can offer HTC users. According to the press release, users can track down the location of the missing phone on a map. You can also make it ring loudly from afar. Forwarding calls or texts to another phone is also possible, as well as accessing your phone’s contact book remotely. Ultimately, you can safeguard the integrity of your personal data on the missing phone by wiping it completely.
Unfortunately, the service is not yet available for US customers. HTC for the time being has not confirmed any models that support the portal. But typically, this type of service may not be welcomed by wireless providers in the US.
As for the new Sense UI on phones, HTC has improved the booting time and added new features such as DLNA support, faster maps, digital orientation, and unified inbox.
