New webOS 2.0 Details Emerge
In a mobile world increasingly filled with Android OS and iOS, we’d like to think webOS as the underdog, even with the $1.2 billion backing from HP. Our love for the webOS is well documented, so it’s great to finally get some news update on the latest revision of webOS — now on its 2.0 version. Some of the highlights of the new features include a more advanced multi-tasking system, anti-Flash HTML5 enhancement and universal search.

Real multi-tasking on the webOS.
The new Stack feature of the webOS 2.0 will make multi-tasking a breeze. The system will automatically group related apps or cards in stacks, which will make switching between tasks easier. You can also manually drag and drop cards and manage the stacks on your own.
Meanwhile, the Just Type or the universal search feature can launch apps automatically even as you type. The new webOS 2.0 also sports some HTML5 enhancements, such as geo location and web storage support, as well as application caches.
The Synergy feature will automatically collate data from different sources to make one easy viewing for you. For example, if you keep forgetting your girlfriend’s birthday, the system will automatically retrieve the data from her Facebook profile and appear in her contact details.
The new webOS 2.0 will also have advanced JavaScript services features, which will enhance background processing and low-level networking.
All in all, we are pretty pumped up to see it in real devices soon.
