AT&T: to Give Out 3G MicroCells to Long-Serving Customers?
AT&T is rumored to be using a 3G MicroCell and that is said to be a way of keeping customers aboard; a subscriber in an anecdote over the weekend somewhat said that they have received a letter from the carrier giving him the femtocell as a reward for being one of AT&T’s “most valuable customers”. Well the deal was somehow honored, but the subscriber noted Endgadget that the retails staff was not able to explain as to why they are somewhat normally given at $150 local cell site for free.

Moreover, there are suspicions raised that somehow the gift is a method to keep the customers just like many of those whom were on the verge of finishing their contracts and that are iPhone owners as well; AT&T has dropped repeatedly hints here and there that its iPhone exclusivity may somewhat be coming to an end soon and that they have moved up its eligibility for the iPhone 4 to included everyone that would have qualified in 2010 and nearly doubled cancellation fees for them to make it difficulty to leave—to those who are to renew their contracts.
Moreover, one of the company’s main concerns is the call quality in most of the hotspots such as New York City, and San Francisco and that the 3G MicroCell has somewhat partly solved the problem by taking the load off then congested cell sites everywhere. There are rumors as well, some accurate, have had a Verizon-capable CDMA iPhone that will arrive within the next few months though there are also other rumors that it will somehow arrive by early 2011.
