Toshiba offers the enterprise market with large-capacity and high-performing MBF series of HDD



The storage device division of Toshiba has recently announced its new energy-efficient line of 2.5 inch HDD offering high capacity and performance for the enterprise market segment, the MBF series. All models in the said product line up features a sleek form factor but offers storage capacity that is as high as 600 GB which makes it the current title holder of being the industry’s largest capacity enterprise-class 2.5 inch HDD. Moreover, the MBF line up features Toshiba’s first self-encrypting enterprise-class drive offering.

The new MBF series of enterprise-class 2.5 inch HDD meets the enterprise range standards with 6 Gb/s SAS interfaces and each platter spinning at 10,025 RPM for providing mainstream storage arrays, mid-range volume servers, rack-mounted and black servers along with other power-conscious, data intensive, and business-critical applications.

Some MBF series models delivers consumer with an option of drive-based encryption architecture, which is developed to TCG specifications ensuring standard-based protocols promoting industry-wide adoption by security management independent software and hardware vendors, HDD vendors and designers of storage system.

This series proves the success of Fujitsu and Toshiba’s integration and also shows Toshiba’s commitment and capability of leadership in the enterprise market segment.
