Samsung just recently announced that they are now able to make camera phones with better picture quality because of the incorporation of the CMOS image sensor through the S5K4E2 chip that will allow the camera to remain small and yet have the same picture quality digital cameras have.

The CMOS image sensor for camera phones is brought to us by the Samsung S5K4E2 chip that allows for a lot of new functionality for phones like noise removal that will make the phone work smoother as well as bar code support which appears to have a good deal of demand from consumers and even business card scanning which will all be revealed once they are implemented. The chip will now also allow future Samsung phones to record good quality video at full resolution which was not possible before.

Samsung’s S5K4E2 chip will allow HD resolution video to be taken by a camera phone giving phones more functionality and reducing the need for digital cameras especially with the increase in megapixel and the implementation of digital camera features like image stabilization and face recognition.
