YouTube would be the first choice of many because of all the features and interface options but if you were they type to not go with the trends here I am offering you an alternative to video sharing and streaming. I give you Dailymotion, the site has been around for a while but has not met the same success as YouTube internationally though is very popular in France and within Europe.

The new iPhone app from Dailymotion gives almost the same features as YouTube for your video sharing and streaming but with a little handicap. YouTube has a dedicated special plug-in from Apple itself that allows it to populate iPhones with ease, launching the videos from the site and other effects and Dailymotion does not have the same offer, but hey that’s corporate politics. Dailymotion has already complained about the preferential treatment but it has not achieved anything spectacular yet.

The free version for the app is ad-supported while you can buy an ad-free version for $6. If you’re into supporting the underdog then go ahead and make your way to the store and download the app.
