Taiwan unveils super-tiny microchip

Technology is a very broad word, its complex than any other things, it could be traditional or modern technology, and it has many faces. In concerns with modern technology, it is ever changing and diverse in many terms. Usually it started from the largest to the smallest, just like computers which follows the transition of being large to small. Taiwan which had great additions to modern technology innovations has developed super tiny microchips that could make the future laptops and mobile phones lighter stated by researchers.

Hsinchu city State-financed Nano device Laboratory mentioned that they had succeeded in the packing of more transistors into smaller chip space usage than anyone else so far. Electronic devices are seen to be lighter, cheaper and smaller with the use of this technology, Yang Fu-Liang Lab chief mentioned. Currently laptops averagely weigh 3.3 lbs or about 1.5 kilograms but the latest innovation could see laptop computers weighing about 500 grams. It is said that it is the most sophisticated and advanced chip technology ever since. The field and the team are working on 16-nanometre advance technology which refers to the spaces between chips transistors which follows a principle that more transistors can placed on a chip when the space is smaller. Sixteen nanometers will soon to be considered as the final frontier.
