wii-screenProfessor of health and science at University of Mississippi stated that they tracked 8 families for a period of 6 months to see if the Nintendo Motion detection games would have an impact on their fitness levels, but sadly the results are significantly little in terms of family fitness. The study was made in fall 2008 and wished to determine whether software like Wii Fit could actually demonstrate sufficient physical activity in improving physical fitness. The university gathered Wii units and copy of the software to 8 families in Oxford for a period of 3 months constantly and regularly checking their fitness levels. Families were rated based on variable metrics like Balance and body compositions and aerobic fitness. The time spent was decreasingly observed with Wii Fit usage 82% per household over the course of study around 22 minutes on the 6 weeks and only 4 minutes a day during the later days.
