Office 2003 Bug Locks Files
Microsoft’s Office is commonly used in managing and encoding documents, spreadsheets, creating presentations, managing expenses, sending email and other of utilities. Many computer users globally use the Microsoft’s operating systems on their computer, because of its user friendliness and easy encoding processes. Microsoft released their latest patch and fix for the bug that renders users to be locked temporarily out Office 2003 documents that is protected by the Company’s Right Management Service Technology.

The issue that many users reported that makes users not able to open Office 2003 documents protected with RMS now has a solution with a hot fix. The patch is available on Microsoft’s Technical support website. The bug essentially hits all components of the Office 2003 suite, including Outlook emails, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and Word Documents, File that were not in the first place protected by RMS were not affected by the glitch. Users who try to open impacted files will be replied with an error message stating “Unexpected error occurred, Please try again later”. Microsoft blamed the program on the expiration of the Information rights management certification. The situation could cause headaches and major problems to healthcare companies, law firms and government entities and other organized groups that utilize RMS to impose custody over sensitive files.
