Cello’s iViewer provides direct access to BBC’s iPlayer
UK-based firm Cello finally made its iViewer LCD TV available and this new TV set will enable users to have a direct access to BBC’s iPlayer. The iPlayer however, allows users to watch some internet channels which are available on iViewer.

Some of the internet channels included are the Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food, YouTube and video podcasts from news providers CNN and chat show host Larry King. Viewing net channels is made possible courtesy of iViewer’s built-in internet access which relies on broadband or WiFi connection.
The BBC catch-up service is currently available excusive on TV via set top boxes, game consoles or a Virgin Media digital TV subscription.
According to Cello Electronics owner Brian Palmer, they have consumed about one year to develop the iViewer TV set which is caused by a delay in the delivery of an important chip manufactured from US. Though, Palmer added that they are going to manufacture the sets in County Durham this weekend but would have limited supplies before Christmas.
The iViewer LCD TV sets comes in two versions which are a 26 –inches model priced at 399 pounds and a 32 –inches version which sells for 499 pounds. Both units will also have eventual remote upgrades from Cello.
