OCZ has return, and it carries along a new series of SSD drive entries. The Colossus series of SSDs sports a 3.5-inch form factor and each drive has 260MBps read and write speed. The drives are also powerful enough to store up to 1TB of data.

The SSD drives also sports internal RAID 0 to attain faster read and write speeds. The company defines their drives as excellent handlers of small files like transferring of file, emails, and web browsing. OCZ reasoned out that they chose to use 3.5-inch form factors for the drives to be easily slotted on existing rack-based systems.

According to Eugene Chang (OCZ Technology Group VP of Product Management), the new series is intended for hardcore users which sets a premium on speed, reliability, optimum storage capacity and is intended for boosting desktop and workstation performance. He also added that the Colossus’s system is also aimed at enterprise customers with locked BOMs and customized firmware matching their distinct utilizations.
