Verizon Motorola DROID hits 100,000 units sold



I’m sure by now you’re already very familiar with what Motorola Droid smartphone can do, considering it was featured in almost every tech sites complete with review and other details all over the net. And after a recent release, I can see that it is doing good. But what is the real score, and how well are the figures of the smartphone. According to Bloomberg, the Motorola Droid smartphone already hit around 100,000 of units sold just for its first weekend. This is an indication that Motorola is starting to recover but, although it’s not quite enough to beat Apple.

The report’s sources came from the Motorola Droid’s carrier Verizon. Bloomberg says that Verizon previously holds around 200,000 of Droid handsets and by the first weekend, the network company sold about half of the mentioned figures of stock .

Many are presuming that Motorola will about to hit around 1,000,000 Android smartphones by the last leg of 2009 together with the Droid and other units. Though, one analyst stated that the Droid still cannot outdo iPhone on opening weekend.
