Activision getting sued for Band Hero Avatars

Band Hero, the other Rock Band game from Activision, is getting sued for the Avatars that are not making the original people happy. Gwen Stefani from the band No Doubt is suing Activision for what seems to be her misrepresentation in the game by her avatar who can be unlocked in the game. The avatar is said to be able to perform Rolling Stones’ Honky Tonk Woman with a male voice and lyrics that states having sex with prostitutes which Gwen Stefani didn’t find amusing.

No Doubt was a 90’s band that had a series of hits like “Don’t Speak” and are present in the Band Hero game, like their lead singer, the band was not amused by their portrayal as a karaoke act and that the performance for both Honky Tonk Woman and the Karaoke act were breaching their contract. Must really be annoying to be downplayed the way they were especially when they worked so hard to be famous.

Earlier another lawsuit came from Courtney Love after having Kurt Cobain singing Bon Jovi songs in the game. Band Hero didn’t quite see it coming like Rock Band who avoided putting avatars in their game.
