So you want to know where your precious money goes when you pay taxes? Well how bout a project to research flight safety? Sounds good doesn’t it, I ride airplanes too. But what if the project involved spending money for three years asking 29,000 pilots about questions that in the end were found out to be inappropriate to the end goal the project aimed to achieve? Although not the first government agency to waste tax payers money, the NASA flight safety project is currently the latest.

NASA had a fundeed research that was allotted for a report into airline safety, many years have passed and still no result has been released. Journalists have found out that precious tax money went into a survey that spanned from 2001 to 2004 asking questions that are not structured and in essence the survey was flawed. In fact the research was so poorly done that it incurred all the expenses with nothing to show for it. This is indeed quite a mess NASA has gone and made, a mess that we can’t look away from because research like this go on every day using our hard earned money. The least they can do is at least spend the time to analyze the projects before they allot budgets to it.

Airline safety may be a good priority especially after the 9/11 bombing but the project has been done and the expenses have been incurred. Sad part about it is, they are spending more money trying to hide the mistake.
